Many citizens misunderstand government and need guidance to work through the myriad of government rules and regulations. To help some, the School of Government, a part of the university system in North Carolina, has published a downloadable guide called "Local Government in NC" in a 3.4 MB 'Adobe' PDF version. If you want to know more about how local governments in North Carolina operate, you will want to read this material.

Our offices are located on the top floor of the County Administrative Building, alongside the Commissioners' chambers and the County Manager's offices. The County Finance & Purchasing Department employs ten full-time employees. We wish to thank you, the citizens and taxpayers of Cleveland County, for supporting the County's financial direction and for your commitment to the County motto: "Cleveland County Grows Greater."
